SnoYak

SnoYak is a Maine-based outdoor startup developing a bold new winter sport product — a hybrid ski-kayak designed to ride snow in a totally new way. As a product born from innovation, SnoYak needed equally innovative content to introduce their brand, explain the concept, and stoke interest among early adopters.

The Challenge

SnoYak was starting from scratch with no existing media assets, branding, or product video. They needed to:

  • Build brand awareness and explain the concept visually

  • Capture the product in use across different terrains and conditions

  • Create high-quality content for web, social, and investors

  • Establish a scalable media library for future campaigns and launches

Our Approach

Groundswell Media Lab partnered with SnoYak to build a full visual content foundation from the ground up. We started by understanding their brand identity, target user, and product mechanics — then crafted a content strategy that prioritized clarity, excitement, and a sense of adventure.

The Result

Our work with SnoYak is just getting started, but in the pipeline we have:

  • Product Launch Video – A cinematic short film showcasing the SnoYak in action on snow-covered slopes, blending performance footage with storytelling to highlight innovation and fun

  • Short Form Clips – Modular vertical and horizontal videos for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts

  • Photography Library – High-res lifestyle and action stills, with a mix of studio, field, and behind-the-scenes shots

  • Content System Setup – Organized folder system and delivery format for ongoing use across web, pitch decks, paid ads, and retail outreach
